Data Deletion
Last updated: May 19, 2026
This page explains how Plate Atlas users can delete app data or request help from NiONlite LLC. Plate Atlas does not require a NiONlite account and NiONlite does not operate a hosted user profile or food journal database for the app.
Quick summary: Most Plate Atlas data is stored on your device, in your private Apple iCloud account when iCloud sync is enabled, or in a backup file you choose to save to Google Drive or another storage provider. You can delete most of this data directly from the app, your device, iCloud, Google Drive, or the storage provider you selected.
Delete Data in the App
You can delete or reset Plate Atlas data from inside the app where those controls are available:
- Delete saved dishes, safe-for-me entries, restaurant notes, and post-meal notes from the My Dishes or saved dish screens.
- Clear scan history from the Settings or History area where available.
- Reset your dietary profile, allergens, disliked ingredients, app language, and related preferences from Settings or Profile where available.
- Delete exported Android backup files from Google Drive or any other storage provider where you saved them.
Delete Data from Your Device or Cloud Account
- Uninstalling Plate Atlas removes local app data from many devices, subject to the operating system's backup and restore settings.
- On Apple devices, you can manage or remove iCloud app data using Apple iCloud settings if iCloud sync is enabled.
- On Android, you can clear app storage in Android Settings, uninstall the app, and delete any exported backup file from Google Drive or your selected storage provider.
