Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how NiONlite LLC ("NiONlite", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use Contractor (the "App"), a field proposal and estimating app for contractors. By using the App, you agree to the practices described below.
Short version: Contractor is designed as a local-first MVP. Customer details, project notes, measurements, photos, proposal drafts, invoices, payment status records, backups, and app settings are stored on your device unless you choose to share, export, back up, or send them using features you control.
1. Information You Enter in the App
Contractor may store information you choose to enter, including:
- Business profile and proposal branding information.
- Customer names, email addresses, job site addresses, and project names.
- Site notes, scope notes, exclusions, measurements, material selections, labor assumptions, markup, tax, deposits, proposal package names, and line items.
- Job site photos that you add from your camera or photo library.
- Published proposal snapshots, customer approval records, invoice records, manual deposit confirmations, manual payment confirmations, and project closeout status.
- Subscription status metadata needed to unlock paid features in the App.
2. Local Storage
The App stores its workspace locally on your device. NiONlite does not operate a production cloud account system for this MVP and does not receive your local project database just because you use the App.
If you delete the App, reset your device, or lose your device without a backup, local App data may be lost.
3. Backups, Sharing, and Exports
The App may let you create local backup files or share proposal summaries through tools provided by your device, such as Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, email, text message, WhatsApp, or other apps installed on your device.
When you export, share, or back up information, that information is handled by the destination service you choose. Review the privacy practices of those services before sharing customer or project information with them.
4. Photos and Camera Access
If you grant camera or photo library access, the App uses that access so you can add job site photos to projects. The App does not access photos unrelated to the choices you make through the operating system photo picker or camera flow.
5. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
Contractor Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit. NiONlite does not receive your full payment card information. Apple may provide subscription status information needed to verify whether your subscription is active, expired, cancelled, pending, or restored. Apple handles payment information according to Apple’s policies.
6. AI-Assisted Drafts
The App may include AI-assisted design idea and estimate draft features. AI outputs are drafts only. The contractor is responsible for checking measurements, pricing, materials, labor, scope, exclusions, taxes, deposits, and customer-facing commitments before using or sending a proposal.
If future versions connect to cloud AI services, NiONlite will update this Privacy Policy to describe what data may be sent for processing.
7. Information We May Receive When You Contact Us
If you email support@nionlite.com or otherwise contact us, we may receive your email address, name, message, attachments, screenshots, crash details you choose to provide, and any other information you include. We use this information to respond to you, troubleshoot issues, improve the App, and keep support records.
8. Analytics, Diagnostics, and Crash Reports
We may receive limited diagnostics or crash information through Apple, TestFlight, App Store Connect, or device operating system tools, depending on your device settings and Apple’s systems. This information helps us diagnose crashes and improve reliability.
9. Data Selling and Advertising
We do not sell personal data from Contractor. We do not use Contractor project data for third-party advertising.
10. Children’s Privacy
Contractor is intended for contractors, businesses, and adults managing field proposal workflows. It is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact support@nionlite.com.
11. Security
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate for a local-first MVP, but no app, device, network, or storage system can be guaranteed secure. You are responsible for securing your device, device passcode, Apple ID, backup destinations, and any exported files that contain customer or project information.
12. Your Choices
- You can edit or delete project information inside the App where supported.
- You can delete local App data by deleting the App from your device.
- You can manage iOS permissions such as camera and photo access in the Settings app.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID subscription settings.
- You can choose whether to export, share, or back up files to external services.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Contractor evolves. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
